“The set gives a literal interpretation of a Spartan and functional urban apartment – it is as ascetic and pragmatic as a monastic cell. Seven locks on the door keep the lawless world at bay but also suggest an assurance of restraint – a talismanic presence for the ex-con, ex addict, born-again preacher.
